Introduction to Sun Rock

Course Summary

During the winter months it's not always possible to get out rock climbing in the UK and when it is it can be cold and uninviting, the Costa Blanca provides an abundance of quality limestone crags with bolt protection in often beautiful surroundings. During a week you could have a different day at several crags thereby getting a feel for the area and the different styles to be found there.

Course Content

Introduction to Sun Rock includes all the basic skills needed in rock climbing including:

• Some technique coaching
• Basic rope work skills including tying on and attaching yourself to anchors
• Gear retrieval, belaying safely and correctly
• Safeguarding yourself whilst abseiling 
• Prussiking techniques

Experience / Fitness / Ability

This Spanish based Introduction to Sun Rock Course is provided for people who have a little previous climbing experience or have done a little climbing inside on climbing walls.

The Introduction to Sun Rock course is based on the Costa Blanca - Spain. The Costa Blanca provides numerous excellent locations ranging from sea cliffs to mountain crags in superb locations.
