Course Summary

During the winter months it's not always possible to get out rock climbing in the UK and when it is it can be cold and uninviting, the Costa Blanca provides an abundance of quality limestone crags with bolt protection in often beautiful surroundings. During the Sun Rock Improvers week you could have a different day at several crags thereby getting a feel for the area and the different styles to be found there.

Course Content

Sun Rock Improvers includes all the basic skills needed in rock climbing as for the Introduction course including:

• Some technique coaching
• Basic rope work skills including tying on and attaching yourself to anchors
• Gear retrieval, belaying safely and correctly
• Safeguarding yourself whilst abseiling 
• Prussiking techniques

Experience / Fitness / Ability

The Sun Rock Improvers Course is provided for people who have some previous climbing experience either outside on natural crags or indoor walls.

Course Location 

The Sun Rock Improvers Course is based in a variety of locations that are ideally placed to make the most of the winter weather.

• Costa Blanca - Spain. The Costa Blanca provides numerous excellent locations ranging from sea cliffs to mountain crags in superb locations. 
• Kalymnos – a fantastic playground for both the experienced and less experienced climber.
• Morocco – Todra offers some great multi pitch climbing, also there are the Anti Atlas mountains that offer a variety of remote crags. Morocco is ideal for the winter months.
• South of France can also be a good venue, places such as Chateaux Vert, The Calanques etc.
