Course Summary

Here in North Wales we have some of the best and most varied Traditional Rock Climbing, this makes it an ideal venue for all our Rock Climbing Courses, especially the Introduction to Rock Climbing Course offering friendly venues with good protection and great locations, the perfect teaching crags.

Course Content

Introduction to Rock Climbing includes all the basic skills needed for rock climbing including:

  • Some technique coaching
  • Basic rope work skills including tying on and attaching yourself to anchors
  • Gear retrieval, belaying safely and correctly
  • Safeguarding yourself whilst abseiling
  • Prussiking techniques

Experience / Fitness / Ability

This North Wales based Introduction to Rock Climbing is provided for people who have no previous climbing experience or have done a little climbing inside on a climbing wall. After this course you should be a competent second and feel happy as such up to V Diff or Severe grades.

Course Location

This course is normally based in North Wales. Snowdonia provides numerous locations ranging from sea cliffs to mountain crags in superb locations. The variety of locations also allows for working round inclement weather.

Introduction to Rock Climbing

Cost: £180 per day + £20 per additional person.

Ratio: 1:3 maximum.

Number of days: 2 day weekend through to a full 5 days. We also do 1 day taster courses.

Included: All Guides fees.

Not included: Transport to and from the course venue for client and Guide, lunches, insurance.
